I am sad. Because my weight has REFUSED TO BUDGE IN ANY MEANINGFUL WAY over the last 5 years. Despite severe reduction in alcohol. Total elimination of red meat. Running a SHIT TON. Counting calories for TWO FUCKING YEARS. The amount of hard work I have done is just insane. But the results have been whack.
Let’s go deeper into what you have tried:
- I started running. I have run for about 18 months now with a lot of regularity.
- I logged calories, approximately, all the time.
- I cut out alcohol really significantly
- Started eating a lot less saturated fats.
So all those things did not work at all. They helped in peripheral things, like some of the blood tests. But generally they didnt result in any weight loss over the last few years.
Now, through all my studies about this topic, there ARE a few more things that I have not done – things that a lot of people talk about:
- Sleep and stress
- Focussing on protein, and lowering the refined carbohydrates
- Strength training
The funny thing is, the last time I lost a significant amount of weight quickly, I was in “keto” and doing lifting. I also had less stress in life. So maybe that is the way to do this.
There is one blood test that I am a bit worried about: High insulin, high A1c and generally high blood sugar average.
So, is this the next focus? I guess it just needs to be layered on top.
I have a strong feeling this is going to work. Just simplify your mind and perhaps pay attention to this. Don’t get muddled.
I am pretty optimistic though, about the future.
